Mine won't open unless I what it a good one. Hit the seat cushion straight down, then pull on the handle.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? The back seat on my westy weekender won't open. The release mechanism is obviously jammed with something, and no matter what I've tried, I can't convince it to open. It's been about a month now that I haven't had access to tire jack, tools, etc. under the seat. I can't figure out how the &*#$ to get it open. There must be some easy solution that most everybody but me knows about? I hope. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tom LaLanne
