Subject: Tire wear
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi all, I am getting a LOT of tire wear on my passenger side, on the inside of the tire. I took the tire off (it is almost new and the inside has belt showing) and changed it and checked it out. Looks like the rubber seal on the upper ball joint is split and it looks like it is not seting right. I ordered a new one and will replace it obviously. My question is, should I also be looking to replace the lower ball joint too? I remember having this issue with my 87 that I used to have, but that was over 7 years ago and I've slept since then. I can't even remember if I changed the lower or upper then. My thinking is, the lower looks a lot more sturdy (just where it is and how it's positioned) then the upper. The upper looks like it would be normal for it to take a lot of wear. Especially on the passenger side. Is there anything else that would cause this? I am pretty sure it is just normal wear and tear on the suspension, and I have always found Vanagons to be very durable in this area. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Randy 88 Wolfsburg
