Subject:      Fuel Filter question

Question for the list...

Bought a fuel filter for my 85 Westy from a list vendor, large metal
cylindrical fuel filter, found out that the one on my bus is a small white
plastic one... was my fuel filter changed from stock?  would this fuel filter
still work on my van? Is the metal one the stock filter?
