Subject: Oil leaking from the tip of the 0.9 BAR oil sensor?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi volks

I just noticed where my oil leak was from. It has been leaking very slowly for the last year, and I could not know where. Before, it would leave like a one drop of oil everywhere I parked.

But in the last 2 weeks it started to leak more, like a 2x2 inch size spot where ever I parked, and this week it was bad, like 6x6 inches. And my rear hatch is covered with oil drops to the top! YES, to the top of the rear part of the pop-top! I never knew that those little oil drops could get that high from highway driving.

I did remove the oil sensor 0.9 bar, the one just next to the water pump (that I changed 2 months ago). The sensor was full of oil. I reinstalled it with a high temp sealing black goop thing from my dad (he is a machinist and he is the one that teaches me mechanics). It did nothing!

Well, today we just removed the electrical connection and ran the engine. The oil was leaking from the tip!! Between the metal connector tip and the "plastic cover". It was not leaking from where you screw it to the engine.

Just bought a new sensor and installed it. Problem solved!

I am a list member for about 2 years and usually read 3/4 of all the posts (dont read tire or frigde threats) and I never heard of this one... Did this had happen before to someone?
