I responded to JordanVw@aol.com about an AC for my 87.
He E-mailed:
" system is complete from a 87 wolfsburg vanagon, including all
housings, everything...  was fully charged w/ freon when i pulled the
engine.    its in great shape
chris"

   Then when "Chris" contacted me by phone, he says he may be able to
find a compressor, and he's not sure about the condenser.

    Has anyone dealt with them?
