All,

Time to part with my 87 Westie full camper.

PS PB 4speed manual. 277000 KM on the clock but I find this very hard to believe judging from the condition of the van.

Modifications: Originally a Canadian van, has the auxiliary heater, ($1000+ extra) Has the complete valence package from a 1990 van installed, bumpers AND side moldings. The electrical outlet has been relocated to the US spec location. Alloy wheels (vw original).

Color: Dove Blue Metallic new PPG paint

Interior: Almost perfect, seats are perfect, the Velcro skylight cover is shot and the elastic is shot in the sliding door curtain. Stove works, fridge works in all three modes and has the bright blue led mod done so you can tell if it is lit in daylight. Changed the incandescent 3 bulb Canadian light to the fluorescent US style.

Exterior: Virtually perfect except for a couple of chips in the front bumper. That PPG Paint and clearcoat is tough! $2500 value

New or almost new bits:

Stebro exhaust and j pipe 2003. $400 Michelin tires 2002. Less than 5000 miles $400 Used 5000 Mile engine $1750 (Caveat emptor I bought a van that had a broken tranny and this is what the owner claimed) installed this spring. Old running engine with leaking heads included with NEW water pump and all accessories but no electronics. New brakes. July 2003. $600 New sink pump. New plastic outlet covers for the outside.

The Bad:

Has had a couple of episodes of the dreaded ECU Problem over the last year. I have read on the list that a 50¢ tantalum capacitor will fix this.

On a recent trip to Florida to see my mom the van decided to overflow the coolant reservoir. On the way back driving at 65 I had no problems. I just drove yesterday to Fort Wayne and had no problems, a four hour trip. Go figure, but I want everyone to know what they are buying.

Asking $9900 but will consider any reasonable offer. I would like for someone on the list to own it as they know what they are getting into with a 16 year old vehicle and also how fun they are!

Pmail me for pictures at mvaone@aol.com

Cheers,

Mark
