The later models, namely 2.1s, have a different temp switch in the radiator and these are set to come on at lower temps than 1.9 models and so will run more often. There are other even lower temp switches available and someone may have put one of those in. I did that myself in my 87 recently but the fan ran so often that I put a new one of the correct type in instead. Mark Fin Beven wrote: > > I've recently purchased a '90 Carat. The high speed on my engine cooling fan seems to "kick in" prematurely, as when running at freeway speeds on a warm (but not oppressively hot) day. When this occurs, the temp. gauge seems to be running at about it's mid-point, and no where near the "blinking light" range. > > I'm wondering if this is normal, or if any of you have experienced a similar situation. > |
