Larry, I second Duanes emotion. Also in Anchorage in the Turnagain neighborhood (the 4000 block of West Northern Lights Blvd) is Earthquake Park, where the 1964 earthquake swallowed up neighborhoods -it's a free park with hiking trails and access to Turnagain Arm. If you like small aircraft see Spenard Lake which as more float planes around it than aywhere else in the US. You can go up to Mt Alyeska for a view of Anchorage and the Cook Inlet and beyond. The Chester Creek greenbelt, has a great bike path where you may see moose, and Kincaid Park past the airport. I haven't been to Homer but Seward also has some beuatiful scenery and the Fiord-like Resurrection Bay.

Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 14:33:17 -0400 Larry, Seward and Homer are awesome. You really "HAVE" to go to both towns! I could try to tell you all about them, but you should just GO there. I mean, you're already in Anchorage! Also, you might want to check out Whittier. You can actually drive there now, but when I last visited you had to take a train. Now, you can drive through the train tunnels, during the day (certain hours, days of the week). In Whittier, there is a pretty cool boat tour that you can take to see glaciers, wildlife, etc. - Duane Larry Chase wrote: >Volks, > >Just arrived in Anchorage ...... and will be headed towards Fairbanks in >a day or so. > >Anyone have any "Must See" suggestions for the area. > >Also ..... is a detour south ...
