Sorry I have to tell ya that The Birdhouse Bar burned to the ground several years ago. Last time I was in the area they had not rebuilt it nor were there plans to do so. The Whittier trip is great, now that they have opend the train tunnel to allow cars/trucks to drive through the tunnel. And you are dead on about the mosquitoes. If some Buhach can be found in Anchorage or Fairbanks, it's a good thing to have. When burned it makes a good pyrethrims smoke that mosquitoes cannot handle at all. A little burned in the ol' Westy will keep them out for hours.
