Bought my 82 Westy from an AZ couple. Had them smog it in CA, met them at
the (San Diego) California DMV, paid my fees, cursory inspection ... and a
done deal. Federal emissions, etc.
FWIW, CA currently exempts vehicles 30 years or older, although that may
change.
