Scotts Flat Reservoir is 5 miles above Nevada City (actually, that's where the turn-off is and it's about another 5 miles or so downhill from there) and owned by P.G.&E. My daughter and I camped there last year (when our van broke down on way to Lake Tahoe in September and we were stuck there a number of days waiting for repairs!). They charge (or did then) $22 a night for absolutely NOTHING as far as amenities - pay shower, no hook-ups, just a plain ol campsite with a table. Area is pretty, but, personally, I don't think it's worth $22 a night. Beautiful lake, though and surrounding area. There aren't a lot of campgrounds around there, but there are a lot of campgrounds further up Highway 20 towards Reno (forest service type, no amenities). Sharon Mendonca 88 Vanagon 85 Vanagon |
