If the insides of the three hookups are still functional, you might want to make covers from 1/4 inch plywood making the little bend at the bottom with an exacto knife cut reinforced with Elmers glue to hold the bend. Then use the new ultra strong marine velcro (available at www. sailrite .com) to hold them in place. I also attached a short piece of copper wire to one corner to make sure the wind doesn't take one or more of them. However, this new velcro is really a lot stronger then anything I've seen before. I sanded and sealed the wood and painted them with satin gloss black paint and they look pretty good. You're looking at about $10 to $15 bucks, and a sense of pride with a piece of work that saves a bundle. Dave Cromwell '82 1.9 diesel westy "la ballena azul" tortugasmarinas@yahoo.com
