Hi, I posted a message about this before, and I'd like to clarify as best as possible- I have an '82 diesel vanagon in need of a radiator. New radiators are very expensive. I understand that the waterboxer radiator can be made to work with this van. The following will be needed: 1. Water cooled radiator. This radiator has different cooling line connection locations. 2. Modifications need to be made to my cooling lines to accomodate the new locations. It looks like I'll need to trim the metal line the goes to the top of the radiator. I will need to use the front cooling hoses that are used with the waterboxer. 3. The upper radiator mount must be replaced with the mounts from the waterboxer. This entails a bit of welding. 4. The radiator shroud must be used from the waterboxer. There are two types of these shrouds, one larger, one smaller. I will need the smaller shroud for my radiator fan to mount properly. 5. I will need to rewire my temp switch harness. This will require use of the wiring harness from the waterboxer radiator.
Is there anything I'm missing here? Thanks very much, Brad |
