You can be a butcher and cut the wires or you can be a pro and release the metal pins unharmed from the plastic connector body. Do this with a stiff metal tool such as a paper clip. Mark the locations before removing the pins. There is a tiny metal tab that locks each pin in it's hole in the connector body. Push the tab flat and pull the wire and pin out.
