I was sitting on responding to this thread because the original post described such an elaborate effort, full of exposure by the "thief/scum-bag", that it just didn't seem likely. I locked my keys in a '70 914-6 I had. Called the "smith" and he let me in. Drove home and locked my keys in the car (go ahead, get a good laugh). I was so p----d! I got a steel bristle from one of those street sweepers, a screw driver and was in my car in less than a minute. I've had keys made at a local VW dealer and they asked me for ID and proof of ownership BEFORE I could ORDER THE KEY. Bob |
