I'm going a bit nuts. I bought this van a few weeks ago, drove fine for 140 miles on highway, parked it in my driveway, then I could barley get it down the road, in fact I didn't. Had it towed to be looked over, a vacuum hose had big hole in it, and replaced gas filter OEM 140,oo0 mile s9on it. I pick it up and it runs fine to my house about 30 miles. The van sits for 3weeks while I'm off on my motorcycle, I go to do some van errands today, van starts fine, I get 1 mile up the road and all the sputtering starts happening again. I'm, going nuts. Determined to finish my errands I continue, constantly pulling over because sputtering, then regaining power, starting off again then losing power, pull over, restart, get up to 3rd gear and then 4th moving at highway speeds and then I feel it start to stutter again, this goes on for an hour in this type of cycle, I was able to get up to highway speed so for about 5 minutes at a clip and then it keeps repeating......finally get it home and uuuuggghhhh. seems to me this a fuel problem, this van belonged to a friend of mine and during that time never had this problem. The van did sit for a NE winter and she did put a semi tank of gas in it to drive it to Albany from Syracuse. Do you think there is water in the tank. Why would I have power and then lose it? Is this an ignitor problem? aaahhh. OK enough aaaahgs.. Thanks for any input. Andy |
