Found out some things that might be useful to y'all.. Yeah, ok, even though I'm saving up to replace my engine I still needed my "working on the van" weekend fix... So I went to Pep Boys to find a replacement for my cig lighter, I was going to replace the entire unit, but after I pulled it out of the dash I realized the connector on the back was completely different than anything else in the store... BUT, I found an exact replacement lighter on the shelf in the "HELP!" section. I bent the little prongs (that hold the lighter in the cylinder while it heats up) in a little on my old cylinder because it wouldn't hold the lighter in and PRESTO! It works great! Also in the same section were replacement window cranks, I remembered someone on the list saying that some Ford cranks fit and I saw there was a chrome Ford window crank that included a separate spacer (apparently it's for use in Ranger pickups!) Bought 2 cranks, some screws and a big black rubber bushing for around $12. Cut the rubber bushing in half, slid one half over each spacer and screwed them into the cranks. Also works and looks great! David / NJ 85 Wolfsberg Westy "Beatrix" http://home.comcast.net/~maurio11/index.htm |
