Hey all,
In being an ex vwtype3.org member...I have an idea that I got from Jim
Adney...one of the main guru's on that list. Jim would put together
email facts for mechanical procedures such as engine removal....dizzy
rebuilds...ect...ect. I would like to put together an email fact for
removal/installation for watercooled Vanagon engines. And on top of
that...I would like to also create an engine rebuild fact. Included in
these email facts would be things like...

1. Tools required_or tools that can be made to take the place of bought
tools.
2. Step by step procedure for the removal/install/rebuild of engine.
3. Things to replace while engine is out.
4. Parts that should be replaced during engine rebuild.
5. Required parts for engine rebuild.
6. List of shops to get various parts needed for engine rebuild as well
as good machine shops specializing in vw's
7. Tips and Tricks that make things go more smoothly.
Ect...ect....

I would be more than happy to work with several seasoned wrench turners
who would be willing to work on this project. During the project...it
would be nice to have reviews from a group of people to do quality
control and give advice on anything being overlooked. Once finished...I
could distill the text/photos into PDF format for download.
Is there an interest for something like this from the everyone on the
list? OR am I the only one?
