Most places will also replace the rubber if you ask, but with a Vanagon you will need to supply the rubber. If you have a chrome locking strip and want to get rid of it be sure to specify the solid rubber seal. Looks pretty nifty.

There is info in the archives and also on some list members web sites about how to change the windshield yourself. if you can find it it's worth the read on the subject.

Sorry, I can't help beyond saying that the info is out there. Maybe other list members have more specific info.
