Rob, as Ron Salmon at Bud Depot said, watch out for rotted rubber in the seal.

I would get a new one from him, have it installed along with the new window. But absolutely sure that the seal area has been cleaned adequately. Don't want old adhesive to mess up the fit of the new seal.

As for tinted glass for a windshield, I don't care for it. I always keep mine clear except for a tint strip I have added to the top of the windshield.

It is against the law, tinting the winshield of a vehicle, but there is a metal sputtered film that is almost clear - so close to clear that you are hard pressed to see the difference. - that you can put on your windshild - which will reduce glare and reduce the heat considerably. This is worth having if all your other windows have been tinted already.
