Now that you have the relays why not just replace your bulbs with high wattage bulbs? The relays allow the use of the higher wattage bulbs.

I put relays on the high and low beams so the hneadlights are much improved but still not as good as I would like on low beam on our 87 Westy. So I was thinking:

1. what if I angled the rectangular headlight down a bit (a lot?), and angled it over a bit to the right to avoid blinding everyone and then changed the wiring so that when I select low beam, power would actually go to the high beam filament in the rectangular headlight.

2. when I select high beam, the inside round high beam headlights would come on as well as the low beam filament in the rectangular headlight.

Would this proposed setup provide good "low beams" for myself as well as vehicles in front of me and oncomoming traffic?

Would this provide good "high beams" or would I then have to try and find a replacement for the inside round high beam headlight?

I know, I should just try all this myself and then just tell the list how it works out, but this just sounds like the kind of thing other folks on the list may haave already tried.

TIA,

Brian
