Subject: Suitable sub for the Digifant AFM..Ford 2.3 Merkur? Anyone know?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi All. I've developed the dreaded black-death hesitation prob on my `87

Westy. Actually, I've had it for months. I'll fully document what I find out

in the course of messing with it BUT lets start here:

I think the prob is most likely the AFM. My buddy gave me the AFM out of a

Ford US Spec XR4Ti w/ the FI 2.3 pinto turbo motor (I have this in my

Mustang SVO but with a bigger AFM). Ford uses the same size AFM and the only

diff I can see from the Bosch unit used in the 2.1 VW is the last number in

the Bosch part number (0-280-202071).

Has anyone successfully used one of these on their van? I put it on my van

for a few minutes and it did work but my van runs so poorly at the moment

that it wasn't a good test. tomorrow I'll apply 5v to both units and measure

the resistance and output voltage of both.

Lemme know! Thanks! Mikey

`87 Westy Eeyore (big, blue, & slow), REALLY slow right now!
