Subject: Short trip report (620mi)
Content-type: text/plain

Wifey, the two kids, the dog and I just got back from three days in the Adirondacks in our 'new' 1990 Westy. 620 miles all told at about 19.5 mpg. This was out very first trip in the Westy. A Vanagon Virgin Voyage. We loved it. Everything worked a treat. I parked wrong the first night and got complaints from the upper-berthers that the blood was rushing to their heads. But other than that no problems. I did notice that when crawling through Lake Placid (the town) at very low speeds, the low speed fan would turn on. If I idled in a parking lot, or a drive through window, the high speed fan would kick on and boy is that LOUD. Some of the roads are fairly steep and it slowed us down but we kept chugging along.

So we all climbed Cascade and Porter Mtns. Just over 4000 ft. and paddled a canoe in Lake Harris further south. A good time was had by all.

Wifey never liked camping in a tent so this Westy is a Good Thing. She has already asked me where we're going next!
