Joe, It is a wear issue, and a tolerance issue. I had to re-file the notches to better shape, and also disassemble the latch from the glass to shim it up in the hole in the glass. Disassembly is a trick. Small short screwdriver from underneath, pressed up, while 1/4 turned with pliers many turns to release. (believe was slotted, but may have been allen. Anyway, would be better replaced with allen.) Clean and lube before reassembly. Stan 87 Syncro
