<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>hi everybody!</DIV> <DIV>it is good to be back on the list!</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Well, I got a new project working and looking for some moral support as well as advice from those who have under taken this experience before.&nbsp; here it goes:</DIV> <DIV>i recently purchased an 87 syncro westy "shell", recently repainted (2002 beetle red, oh well)&nbsp; i picked up from a deal gone wrong with a mechanic and PO.&nbsp; Anywho, rust free shell, poptop, 60,000&nbsp;original miles on engine and tranny.&nbsp; down side, NO TRIM! AT ALL.&nbsp; No seats, no door handles, no appliances, nada.. PO pulled everything so to save money on paint job by doing prep himself.&nbsp; So what did I do, i also bought a grey 87 gl Wolfsburg with bad tranny for dirt cheap.&nbsp; other then tranny this bus is in real good shape.&nbsp; my next move, pull all trim from wolfsburg and transfer to syncro westy.&nbsp; this includes all wiring, seats, dash, stearing, handles, locks, decals,etc..,&nbsp; what have i done?&nbsp; i am excited and highly motivated for this.&nbsp; i have rebuilt everything mechanical on my 90 gl, but nothing like this.&nbsp; my biggest concerns are getting everything to fit just right.&nbsp; what do i do about overhead trim, you know the wallpaper like material?</DIV> <DIV>Who has advice?&nbsp; Please no negatives like "You are crazy you <A href="mailto:%#@^&amp;)%$">%#@^&amp;)%$</A>!&nbsp; I get enough of that from my wife.&nbsp; I need moral support and good direction.&nbsp; For example, what do I do first?&nbsp; what do i not overlook.&nbsp; What am I not considering?</DIV> <DIV>let me know</DIV> <DIV>oh yeah i will parting out everything else from the 87 wolfsburg that i will not use(Like AC).&nbsp; most everything, except tranny is in good working order.&nbsp; let me know if any requests.</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Jason</DIV> <DIV>90gl</DIV> <DIV>soon to be 87 Syncro Westy Wolsfburg?</DIV></div><br clear=all><hr><b>Get MSN 8</b> <a href="http://g.msn.com/8HMPENUS/2749??PS=">and enjoy automatic e-mail virus protection. </a> </html>
