Have you looked at the aftermarket (ie: H&R) lugnuts? They are often a bit oversized and come in a variety of head styles & thread pitch...

Anybody know where I can find 14mm conical lug nuts that have a wider base than the std. VW alloy lug nuts?

I'm mounting some Merkur wheels on one of my vans and I don't like the minimal contact area that I get when using the VW lug nuts. The lug opening on Merkur rims is 20mm and the VW lug nut is only 25mm across. This give only 2.5mm of contact area around the edge of the lug. I'm looking for something more like the Merkur lug nuts which I thing was about 30mm across. Unfortunately, the Merkur lug nuts are 12mm.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jeff
