Subject: 87 syncro -- lighted oil light: fact or fiction
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

i've trawled the depths of the archives, and apologize if this is a repeat.

how do i determine whether the oil light that has been on as of late (i haven't driven much, but it comes on pretty much right away and doesn't go off) is an actual warning or another symptom of the electrical issue i have. it's not accompanied by any buzzer. the oil level (i know this is different) is normal.

as far as the electrical issue goes, the instrument panel light/tachometer/temp gauge all seem to interact with the headlight switch (doing different things depending whether they are on or off, where the dimmer dial is, whether engine is on or off), and the oxs sensor light even went on for a day or so recently. and by all means, let it fly if you have recs on that...

any tips on where to start checking whether the oil light is signaling something dire?

thanks,

colin 87 syncro weekender
