Hi all. Not sure if this has been too well publicized, but yes, Buses by the Buoy is happening again this year! I'm in no way affiliated with the organizers - I've just been going for the last few years and having a good time, and the more the merrier! Last year was great fun and wrapped up on Sunday with a 50+ bus caravan.

This year's event is at Bayley's Camping Resort in Scarborough, ME just down the road from Pine Point Beach. There's really something for everyone to do in that area, from canoeing in the Scarborough Marshes to riding the roller-coaster at Old Orchard Beach. Bayley's is definitely the "Disneyland" of campgrounds in the area, but should be a little less nuts after Labor Day. (207) 883-6043 to make reservations. The Buses are camping in the area known as "the Pines" or something like that, so be sure to let them know you're with the group when you call. Bayley's website is www.bayleys-camping.com .

The event is organized by the Vacationland Volkswagen Association - here's the info from their site: Friday-Sunday, September 12-14th, Buses by the Buoy, an informal camping weekend, at Bayley's Camping Resort in Scarborough, ME. Wooded sites with full hookups, area activities, ice cream social, lobster feed, potluck breakfast and VW Bus Caravan. For more information and to be placed on our mailing list call Matt Atwood 207-783-8078, e-mail avwfanatic@aol.com or check out www.mainevwclub.org.

Hope to see you there! Doug Fitz-Randolph Freeport, ME '90 Syncro, '86 Single Cab
