Subject:      ( help )fuel filter pressure now

anyone know why i would have so much pressure at my fuel filter? maybe my pump not pumping it all the way back, I put a new filter on and cranked it over alot and would'nt start so I removed the filter on the back end and it blew gas fast like air is just pumping in and not pushing it threw the filter. to the motor, am i hot on something here?
