I have been happy with filters from www.thepartsbin.com or www.busdepot.com with the parts bin you can get free shipping for order over 50 dollars You may want to order new o-rings for the drain plug. I find it interesting that vw no longer sells the 0-ring for the smaller plugs (for passats) but forces you to buy the entire drain plug???? Since I have the larger plug I am uncertain if busdepot sells the o-rings by themselves. Ron from busdepot is just cagey enough to fill that gap. gary Message: 20 Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 05:37:42 -0700 (PDT) From: Alan Oliver <aoliver12730@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: oil filters The one that impresses me and I use is the Purolator Pure One filter. A local parts place had several cut open. The quality of the materials and assembly is noticeably better. They are priced about like the dealer filter.
