Yes, what you were seeing is the viscous coupler engaging. If there is a slow differential in wheel speeds between front and rear, the coupler doesn't engage, if there is a larger differential in wheel rotation speeds between front and rear, the coupler engages. It's all automagic. That's the cool thing about the syncro mechanism. |
