Eric, welcome aboard!!

First off, your ECU is not a likely culprit in this case. You have stated that you have fuel but no spark. The ECU controls the fuel injection system and is not in the igintion circuit anywhere. If you had any spark at all in the presence of fuel/air, you would certainly get some kind of reaction from the engine.

You have fuel and air but no ignition. If it is stone cold dead and won't go, the Hall sensor which is mounted on the back of the distributor is the number one suspect. Check for a loose connection there. Loose wire, broken wire, connector pulled loose from the wire itself. But also check all the wiring .... grounds, and coil wire particularly.

If you are getting no fire from the coil, period, I would thing it would be the Temp II sensor, and that feeds back to the ECU, and again it becomes a fuel injection - fuel/air issue, which is not what you seem to be having.

Do you have a Bentley. If not, get one. Helps a lot, though not perfect.

Good luck,

Regards,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
