Subject: New engine start-up, help a brother out
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Let me preface this by saying, the last thing I did to a car was plugs, distributor and oil. With my new found confidence, I ordered an engine for my '86 Westy. The swap went great, nothing forgotten, no leftover parts, I even rebuilt the axels in the process.

My instructions say to build oil pressure by "before starting the engine spin the engine and get the oil pressure light to go out" what exactly does this "spinning the engine" mean?

My instructions also say ". After making oil pressure start engine bring the engine to 2500 RPM while adding coolant to the Reservoir replace pressure cap and tighten before lowering RPM" how do you make oil pressure? How do you know you have made it?

If you have instructions, documentation, web site links or other wise, please send it along.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, this is my 1st post to a mailing list EVER, so take it easy on me!!!
