I would just get the hose kit from Ken at Vanagain.com. Tho I'm not sure if it is just for the engine compartment or goes all the way to the tank. Bolts from the hardware store (5/16 ") will work for some of the exhaust, 8 mm metric would be better of course. Bolts that thread into the head must be metric of course and also nuts that go onto studs in the heads. I can't recall if the cat has nuts welded onto the flange at one end. If so you need metric bolts there. If you can find them, stainless steel is a really good idea. Unless you are in a large city or order on line it may be hard to find metric in stainless. Use a little anti-seize compound, especially where things screw into the head. Have fun :-) Larry A.

I searched the archives and it seems the responces came directly to me :( Anyway, I am wanting to replace my fuel lines on my 88 Wolfsburg. I need to know what size hose (it seems there are 2 different) and how much of each I will need to do the whole job. Also, I took a look at the clamps and they look back at you like they are saying "I'm not budging without a fight you will remember" and tips would be helpful. Can they be cut off with a pair of tin snips or something? > On another note, I have a complete exaust comming from Bus Depot, and I need to know if all the parts that will not be included will be avalible at the local hardware store (bolts and such). I checked the CAT and the muffler clamps and they are in good shape. I probably could have even salvaged a lot of the system. But they use a lot of salt here on the roads and if I am going to do it, I might as well do it all. I am a LONG way from a VW dealer, and ordering parts seems to be about a 1-2 week process. I really can't have my baby down that long. know I will need. Thanks a lot for all of your help. > > Randy Newell > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
