The easiest thing to do is install the Syncro on the dolly and then and only then remove the end of the drive shaft that goes to the front wheels at the transmission end. Make sure the flanges are clear from each other. The drive shaft will need to be tied out of the way, as the transmission flange will be turning with the rear wheels. At arival the first thing you will need to do is re-install this drive shaft connection. Another option is to remove the shaft completely. You now will have a 2 wheel drive Vanagon and can be treated the same. Eric
