When that famous sensor started failing on my '85, it was an intermittant failure. Maybe once every 3 months or so; when it became a more solid failure I caught it, and changed it. No more flooded conditions. Why does it cause this condition? According to the temperature versus resistance chart on page 24-32 in the Bently, at around 70f it should read about 2000 ohms. Mine read some 60,000 ohms, which told the computer the temperature was REALLY cold, (-300f?) and it reacted with a REALLY rich mixture.
