Thanks for the info. But, I made the change about a year ago when I replaced the old AFM (cracked board).
However, it reminds me to check the capacitor to see if it's still OK.
Still, I'm curious as to why it was spitting oil (I'm pretty certain) from the mail seal. I'm wondering if puching it on the hills when all the cyclinders weren't firing caused unusually high oil pressure. I had a similar issue when I first purchased the vanagon and took it on a 2300 mile roadtrip to Maine. The PO had routed the main crankcase vent line under one of the water pipes and partially crimped it. The lack of sufficient ventalation caused it to push oil through the main seal.
