My propane tank on the '80 Westy had a leak on the main shutoff valve. When the valve was fully open it had a slow but significant leak. I took the tank off, burned off all the fuel using a big burner I use in my pottery work, and then took the valve apart. I found a worn/torn seal inside. I found a local propane company that sold me a new valve and also noticed that the bleeder valve was leaking and fixed that. Point being that "off the shelf" hardware and fittings from the local propane outfit were suitable for use on the westy tank. Now on to the next little problem...getting the refrigerator to work.
