This Chris sure knows his stuff. I have one of these aforementioned '89's and hadn't even realized that it had the elusive leather wrapped steering wheel. My vehicle has the Wolfsburg emblems, but I had always considered it to be a Carat also, as it has the rear-facing jump seats and fold-out table etc. The VIN number also came up with a Carat designation at the insurance company. It has a Westfalia ID plate attached to the rear seat valence. Were all Carat interiors made by Westfalia?
