Hi Bill,

I think that VW South Africa will probably be producing the T4 Eurovan for several years to come. The T4 Eurovan is only a recent introduction to South Africa, where Vanagon production ended only about a year ago.

Given the tendency of VW South Africa to produce VW models long after their manufacture elsewhere has ended, it would be surprising if South Africa got the T5 just now ... VW South Africa still produce the Golf Mk 1 in 2003 - all of 29 years after it was introduced in Germany and 20 years after it was discontinued!

I also have a feeling that VW Mexico produces Eurovans. VW Brasil continues to produce the classic "Bay Window" van in several versions, but there are strong rumours that production will end in 2004. I am hoping to buy one before production ends, and have it converted into a camper van.

Best regards,

Tony
