I have two country home camper vanagons that I have been trying to smog for a while now. Neither one will even complete the test! I tried at two shops so far. The technicians cannot hold the rpm at the right speed on either to complete the test. I tried on the '86 and it seems that the gas pedal is too sensitive. You can hold it steady just under the required rpm range, but when you push it the least amount possible it shoots up to just over the range. They said it was a poor idle. This is the latest problem, both vans are overdue and I'm building a nice collection of parking tickets for expired tabs (although I paid the fee on time)! What can I do? Thanks, James Cheney |
