Unfortunately, my famialiarity (such as it is), is primarily with the nuke stuff. All PHP/MySql driven. I profess no mastery or even a real adeptness of the aforementions technologies. Any ability I have is more along the lines of making good use of previously written modules.

The reason I suggested a discussion forum format is because (what I see as) all of the major "features" are built in. It can easily be organized into a hierarchical organization, has a database backend, and administrators/moderators can easily be delegated the appropriate permissions to manage their respective topics. Oh, and it has a built-in search function for those who find it easier than digging down through a hierarchical tree.
