I am super finicky about machine noise, to the point of underclocking my PCs, and rebuilding my Tivo and xbox so I can run silent and fanless.

I can sleep with the ARB next to my head, no problem. It doesn't come on that often at night. I also think because the compressor noise it makes is real low frequency it doesn't bug me as much. Also, it's fridge noise -- we've learned to tune that out I guess after decades of exposure.

I just had my first experience with the dometic fan while running on propane. Yikes! That is heckish. What a relief when that thing stopped.

The taller one is 53 pounds, costs $650, and the word 'quiet' appears nowhere on that page.

I would love to try one if it was QUIET! Anyone camped for a week or more with one of these running inside the van?
