I was down at the mechanic today, having my van rehabilitated (checking out my engine replacement) and looking at an early model vanagon L camper. What the devil is this L? What distinguishes it from a GL or a just plain vanagon (like mine). I was faced with the same question the other day when puzzling over volvo gl's and dl's. What do all these letters stand for?
