Howdy Volks, The motor in my '87 is almost dead (shims behind the rear main seal are eating away at the case) and the mechanic quoted me $5k for a replacement. I was wondering what others have paid for a 2.1 long-block and labor. Any recommendations on VW shops in San Diego, CA? I haven't decided if I'm going to replace the motor or sell/donate it. Anyone interested in an '87 Wolfburg Ed. for cheap? (email me off list) Thanks, Sebastian Hill |
