hey volks, I have an issue w/my '90 Westie!!! She/He/It won't start, I mean she/he/it won't even turn over. Today i checked to see it there is power to the starter, the round cylinder on the left side of the engine compartment!! All seems normal when I compare it to my 88 van. I did this in thinking that the ignition switch was bad......turn key to ignition up and seems normal!!! Relay wise, I know one is the relay to the fuel pump, what is the other relay for in the little box above the starter thing!! Van has been sitting around for a bit, but ran to fine always. I was planning on getting the heads done at a local shop and she was running hot on my way there so I stopped at a gas station to let her/he/it cool down (only was about 1 mile into a 4 mile trip!). After that she never wanted to start up again, been sitting in the drivway ever since.......doesn't smell like rat @#$! anymore though!!! any help / suggestion are much appreciated!!! I just want to get an idea or be able to identify the prob. before I send it to the shop keeper!! thanx Jon '90 Westie '88 van |
