Read you loud and clear re. hex bolts -- try getting the AC compressor bracket off after thirteen years. Boston Bob recently cued me in to the ultimate stipped bolt / nut tool: Channellock's "Nut Buster": <http://www.channellock.com/acb/stores/2/product1.cfm?&SID=2&Product_ID=40>

The bottom jaw is curved up so that the harder you pull, the harder it digs into the nut or bolt. Be careful with the big black coolant pipe, it's a $100 part.
