These are available. We sell them for $85 plus a $55 core. You need to pay the whole thing up front and then we give you the core money back when we get the core axle back. If you want to avoid shipping the core you might check at your local flaps to see if they have them available and then you can just hand them back over the counter and avoid shipping (you will pay tax though so take that into account as we are still tax free if you are not in NJ).

Rebuilt axles are just that. They take the old cv joints apart and measure them. They grind the races where the balls sit and the ball cages to a larger size and then add larger balls to compensate. Then they put on new boots and usually pack them with grease (or include grease in a bag for you to pack them). These are the OE joints just rebuilt. If you want to go the super good, non-core way you could buy all new CV joints with boots from us for $55 each. This would work out to $110 per axle with no cores. It is more work for you because you have to remove your old CV joints and install the new boots and joints. However now you have brand new OE joints. Should last for another 150k miles or more if you check the grease every 4 or 5 years.

That is it. Hope this helps.

What is the party line on rebuilt half shafts. Are they available? Do they have a good/bad record? I know that many of this group think refurbishing and replacing parts is the best way to go, but what's the story on the alternative?
