"snip" One thing you can do to alleviate the problem is to remove the Fiberglas insulation from the middle seam down to the floor, clean up the mess, pour liberal amounts of Krown in the floor channel, spray the wall and panel seams with Krown and shoot Krown in the support rib that's midway in the panel. Then install Styrofoam insulation panels. "snip"

Why did westfalia put that kind of insulation? The answer is most probably "Cheap". With all the vans that I have seen at the junkyard here in Montreal, Qc, Canada, the city of rust by the way, that fiberglass insulation was always full of water. And when I removed that insulation, it was just horrible rust everywhere!

On one of the vans, I could stick my hand inside the bottom seam from the outside! And I could touch the insulation soaked with water.

Like Frank says, just remove that fiberglass insulation, and install insulation that cannot absorb water. I installed those air bubbles with aluminum foil on each side in my van. Bought that at Home depot.

For most of us, you don't need more insulation. Why would you insulate that crazy and then there is all that amount of windows where you will loose all the heat anyway. And the pop-top surface too! It's like a bank installing a crazy steal door, but with gypse walls...... Totally useless...

If you really do winter camping, you can cover your windows with those nice insulation mats that eurocamper sells... But what about the thin pop-top?

Just my 2 cents
