Interesting... I hadn't heard of the broken belt issue on Yokos. But to be fair, my driving is out of the ordinary - I went through 2 Conti "reinforced" tires the first year I had the van from driving these roads, one of them had 3 flats before the shop refused to repair it further. Hitting large, sharp obstacles at 60km/h (which sometimes cause the suspension to bottom out) must be hard on any tire. Perhaps I will try the LTX, if only to see how they compare, since I have 2 new Yokos on now, and can run them together.
